Cheeky Calimbo has once again shown his class with a super dressage and fantastic cross country round this weekend and continuing on from the solid performances he showed at the FEI Nations Cups in Strzegom (Poland) and Aachen (Germany) earlier this summer.

Cheeky started the weekend on a  lovely dressage test - I am so pleased to see him continuely improving, getting stronger and therewith being able to put more and more expression into his movements. A huge "Thank you" to Gareth Hughes, who has been and is an enormous support and who has contributed hugely to this development.

I couldn´t have been any happier with his cross country performace around this very testing track - he jumped fantastic, was focussed on the fences and did a superb job! I am so proud of this most wonderful horse and the huge step he has made forward in the cross country phase this year.

Unfortunately he lost both his front shoes on the cross country yesterday and although he finished very well it left him feeling sore and a little bruised this morning.

Cheeky is such a wonderful, talented horse and moreover a dear friend who´s wellbeing and happiness is more important than anything else. With great sadness but in his best interest his owners and I therefore made the tough decision not to present him to the trop up this morning but to withdraw him.

He will now enjoy some time in the field at home to relax and recover and we will see him "back on track" very soon!

It would like to thank his wonderful owner, Mrs Christiane Classen, for all her kind support and big "thanks" also to Algebra´s owner, Mrs Julia McLean who has taken these wonderful pictures of Cheeky!
